What Should I Do If My Ramp Card Is Lost or Stolen?

Quick answer: Lock the card right away — either yourself in the Ramp app or by notifying Church Admin immediately. Locking freezes all spending instantly. If the card turns up, it can be unlocked; if it's truly gone, a replacement is ordered at no cost to the church.

What to Do, Step by Step

1. Lock the card immediately

If you have the Ramp app, open it, select the card, and tap Lock — it takes effect instantly. Don't wait to see if the card turns up. Notify Church Admin as well so the loss is on record.

2. Use the search window

A locked card can stay locked for a few days while you look for it. If it turns up in a coat pocket or car console, it can be unlocked instantly and works again immediately.

3. Replace it if it's gone

If the card is truly lost or was stolen, it is permanently terminated in Ramp and a new physical card is ordered. It can ship to the church office or to your home address. Ramp does not charge replacement or standard shipping fees.

4. Keep purchasing in the meantime

Ministry doesn't have to pause while the new card is in the mail. A virtual card can be issued to your Ramp app instantly and added to Apple Pay or Google Pay for immediate use.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will locking my card break our church software subscriptions (Zoom, Planning Center, website hosting)? Usually no. Best practice is to run recurring subscriptions on dedicated virtual cards rather than a staff member's physical card, so locking a physical card only stops in-person and manual purchases.

What if I see a charge I don't recognize from before the card was locked? Report it right away. If the charge is fraudulent, a formal dispute is filed through Ramp to recover the funds. (See the article on fraudulent Ramp charges for the full process.)

Does replacing a lost card cost the church anything? No. There are no replacement or shipping fees.
