How Do I Move a Ramp Transaction to a Different Fund?

Quick answer: Open the transaction in Ramp, click the "Spent from" dropdown, and select the correct fund. Then double-check the category, since categories are often assigned based on the original fund.

In Ramp, every purchase is assigned to a ministry fund (for example, Youth Ministry, Missions, or General Fund). If a purchase landed in the wrong fund, you can move it yourself in under a minute.

Steps to Move a Transaction

  1. Log in to Ramp on your phone or computer and go to My Ramp (or your Expenses/Transactions page).

  2. Find the transaction you need to move and click it to open the details.

  3. Change the fund: Click the "Spent from" (Fund) dropdown and select the correct fund from the list.

  4. Check the category: Confirm the expense category is still accurate — Ramp often assigns categories based on the fund that was originally selected, so a fund change can leave the wrong category behind.

  5. Save to confirm the change.

Good to Know

  • Moving a transaction only changes the bookkeeping assignment — no money moves and the vendor is not affected.

  • If you don't see the fund you need in the dropdown, you may not have access to it. Church Admin can reassign the transaction for you or adjust your fund access.

  • Fixing fund assignments promptly keeps each ministry's budget report accurate at month end.
